IMPORTANT Licenses for DisclaimIt 1.x, 2.x
and 3.x are not valid for DisclaimIt 5.4 and can not be upgraded
to DisclaimIt 5.x licenses.
Licenses for DisclaimIt 4.x are not valid for DisclaimIt 5.4 but can be upgraded to DisclaimIt 5.x licenses. For more information, please see https://www.netal.com/disclaimit.htm.
DisclaimIt 5.4 contains the following new feature:
Note When you install DisclaimIt, the service Microsoft Exchange Transport needs to be restarted.
Note When you uninstall DisclaimIt, existing MS Exchange transport rule linked to processing rules are not removed. This means that after you install the last instance of DisclaimIt, remove afterwards all MS Exchange transport rules whose names begin with DisclaimIt Rule:.

Upgrading from DisclaimIt 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 or 5.3 is supported. All configuration settings will be preserved.
An in-place upgrade from a DisclaimIt 4.x version to DisclaimIt 5.4 is not supported because DisclaimIt 5.4 can only be installed on MS Exchange 2013/2016/2019 Mailbox servers while DisclaimIt 4.x versions could only be installed on MS Exchange 2007/2010 Hub Transport servers.
It is possible to perform a one-time migration of your 4.x configuration by copying the content of the directory <InstallDir>\Data\Configuration from a server with DisclaimIt 4.x installed to the same directory on the server where DisclaimIt 5.x is installed.
DisclaimIt 4.x/5.x was developed from the ground up based on .NET technology to be used in an MS Exchange 2007/2010/2013/2016/2019 environment. If you were using a previous version of DisclaimIt (1.x, 2.x, 3.x), you will find many similarities but also some important differences. We strongly advise you to read the following topics:
An in-place upgrade from a previous version of DisclaimIt (2.x, 3.x) to DisclaimIt 5.4 is not supported because DisclaimIt 5.4 can only be installed on MS Exchange 2013/2016/2019 Mailbox servers. It is nonetheless possible to migrate the configuration settings of an installation of DisclaimIt 2.6, 2.7, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 or 3.3 by importing the legacy configuration file, Config.xml. Please read the topic Importing Legacy Configuration for more information.
DisclaimIt 5.4 can only be used in an MS Exchange 2013/2016/2019 environment. The DisclaimIt Services for message processing can only be installed on MS Exchange 2013/2016/2019 servers with the Mailbox Server role installed. Please note the following deployment options:

To manage DisclaimIt you use DisclaimIt Manager, which is implemented as an MMC 3.0 Snap-In.
To use DisclaimIt Manager locally on a Windows Server 2019 Server Core installation requires installation of the optional feature package Windows Server 2019 Server Core App Compatibility Feature on Demand (FOD). When FOD is installed, MMC 3.0 Snap-Ins, like DisclaimIt Manager, can be used. To start DisclaimIt Manager you run in the CMD prompt the MSC file DisclaimIt.msc, located in the directory <InstallDir>\Bin, for example:

The DisclaimIt product ships with an evaluation license, which will expire 60 days after installation. According to the End-User License Agreement ("EULA"), on expiration of the evaluation license, you must either purchase one or more user licenses or alternatively completely uninstall the DisclaimIt software.
